Our family of 4 followed the advice to arrive a day early in Europe from the US to adjust to the time zone change. Adding a night at our RS tour hotel, Hotel Lion d'Or, was expensive, so we instead stayed at an airbnb that was a 2 min walk away and only 5 min from the train station and bus stop. It was a wonderful stay and we highly recommend it. There are two separate airbnb listings in this historic house. We booked "Suite in National Monument in Haarlem central park", which has two bedrooms each with a queen bed, plus a sitting room with short (5 feet long?) day bed. Johannes replied via airbnb message offering us two options at a discounted price that we took. We booked the other listing, a room with a queen bed, thereby booking both airbnb listings and the entire floor of this house in which the host also lives. This also permitted us to have a delicious and varied breakfast feast (including gluten free bread to accommodate dietary restrictions) in a beautiful library room overlooking the park across the street. It was a memorable experience and Johannes was a fabulous host. We also opted for the early check in option so that we could come directly from the airport (Bus 300 per Johanne's suggestion worked great) after our early morning arrival and, if needed, sleep in the room. We were all able to stay awake and spent lots of time outdoors in the sun to better adjust to the new time zone. A couple of limitations that did not impact us, but may concern you, is that no guests are allowed to visit and the bathrooms are a bit small.
