Great little place a short walk from the central station in Amsterdam on a little back street in the Red Light District. Jerry is front of house while his wife makes the amazing food. He asks your name, tells you where to sit and spends time talking to you. It helps to get there as soon as they open for dinner, which I believe was 5:00 local time.
Service was fabulous, food was memorable.
Fun fact: my son and daughter in law were also traveling and visited Amsterdam two days later so we recommended this place to them. When they went in, Jerry asked them how they'd heard about his restaurant. He told Jerry that his mom and dad had been there the day before and Jerry remembered us by name!
Tried to bookmark this for an upcoming trip, but Google couldn't find it.
I have been called pedantic more than once for correcting spelling mistakes (not necessarily on this forum BTW). But the post by Linda is exactly why I will continue to offer corrections. It would be a true shame if people wouldn’t be able to find this lovely Indonesian restaurant recommended by Anita because of a misspelling of the name.
The name of the restaurant is Aneke Rasa and it’s located at Warmoesstraat 27
This is their website; https://anekarasa.nl/
Thank you! We don't typically eat expensively when dining and therefore don't often research this part of our trip as much as accomodation, sites, etc. I'm trying to be more intentional and am creating a Google map with recommended locations.
