We sure are. Such a wonderful country to visit. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

I am not a great traveler like most on the forum. I suspect that the average member on the forum has been to half the countries in the world; or more. My count is currently 20%. I would have done more, but a handful captured me. That Fly Guy, you found one of those and are about to find another.

When I travel, sure it is the singular guidebook destinations and the beautiful things but it’s also the places in between and the people that I meet that make a trip special for me. I wouldn’t have found that winery or mom’s cooking or the view from Sokoline by googling; and even if I did, how would I get there? I would have missed the conversations along the way if I had found a bus from Top Ten stop to Top Ten stop. I do realize that this is just me and others may find my type of holiday not as enjoyable so I do always worry that my excitement may send someone down a path that is not well suited for them. So, I am very much relieved that you are enjoying yourself.

I consistently underestimate how much there is in the Balkans and how much time I can spend enjoying it. Total trips are now at 7. I am already regretting that I didn’t have more time for my trip next week. I have been flipping back and forth on what to do in September and it just might be a return trip from the Tara Canyon to Sarajevo with a stop for some fishing halfway. You have inspired me, thank you sir. The final benefit of the Balkans is our friend. I struggle planning every other corner of the world; but the Balkans are so much easier to do right.

Mr. E, thanks again for recommending Montenegro. It’s been a great visit so far. Off to Durmitor National Park and on the water in Tara Canyon tomorrow. Have you ever tried the rafting here yet?

@TexasTravelMom, you should check out Garnet Winery if you make it back. You do have to reserve in advance but well worth it.

Oh, I have been there….. Back in 2023. That’s why I am pretty sure I am not brave enough to tackle that mountain road on my own, even though I drove most other places. It was also my guide’s first visit there. An amazing day!
