Need itinerary help for few days of budget solo travel

Hi all - I'm heading to Montenegro next month (9/19-9/28) to do an organized open water swimming trip based out of Petrovac. I have 1-2 days on either end of the swimming portion of my trip and am trying to figure out what I want to do on those days. I am flying in and out of Podgorica and am going to be relying on public transit or taxis on those few free days I have. Not sure it makes sense to go up to Durmitor, but since I'm spending 7 days on the coast I'd be interested in potentially seeing different landscapes. Interests include arts/culture, history, and all things food. Probably don't want to tire myself out on extensive hikes since I'll be very active when I get to the swimming!

9/19: land in Podgorica at 2pm

9/20 TBD

9/21 arrive in Petrovac late afternoon/early evening

9/21-27 stay in Petrovac on an organized swimming vacation

9/27 check out of Petrovac hotel

9/28 12:05pm flight out of Podgorica

I can recommend Balabani Home Stay https://maps.app.goo.gl/nyQYubVudCAziCpr7?g_st=ic, which is a touch south of Podgorica toward Petrovac. Food is amazing, people are so kind and welcoming, and it’s very affordable. Petrovac is about an hour away. They would be able to help you with either a taxi or a driver.

I’m no help with public transportation since I had a rental car. Montenegro doesn’t have the wide-spread bus and train network some countries have. I’m also not sure Durmitor makes sense in the short time you have, but places to consider might be Shkoder Lake or a day trip to Cetinj or a trip to Ostrog Monastery.

Balabani is on booking.com but you can book direct and also ask about transportation and/or a tour.
