We tender at Kotor from 8:30-5:30. I have contacted two recommended tour guides about a shore excursion. Both basically have the same itinerary. Cable Car, walk around at the top, Perast, Lady of the Rock, Kotor old city walking tour and still be back in plenty of time for the tender back to the ship. One says we will have plenty of time and not rushing. The other says we can do all of these but may be rushing. Don't know which one top believe. We don't want to rush.
That sounds rushed to me. My family and I spent a week in Kotor a few years ago and we did all those activities with the exception of the cable car over the course of the week. We spent a whole day in Perast which included visiting the Lady of the Rock but we also had a leisurely lunch and a speedboat ride. Perast is very small and doesn't have a lot to offer and the Lady of the Rock can be seen in under an hour so a couple of hours would suffice. I would want to spend a decent amount of time exploring the old city but obviously you're going to be constrained by time.
If it was me, I'd leave out the cable car and focus on the old city and Perast.
You dont time for all of that. Fire both guides.
I agree that it appears rushed. Actually the tour guide who mentioned that we could be rushing provided us an itinerary with either the cable car and top or Perast but not both. Both options include a walking tour of the old city. We have 14 and 18 year old grandsons. Would they be interested in Perast or the views from the top of the cable car and the rides up there, if we had to choose.
I've done it all a couple of times. The kids will love the cable car and the amusement park sort of ride in cars on steel tracks that extend out over the edge oh the hill. Great terrifying views. I sent you a PM with an idea. Its what I do when I am there and I go a few times a year. With that skip the boat ride. But Perast is great for grown up time at the Hotel Conte restaurant on the bay front.

If I was a teenager I'd definitely prefer the cable car tour over Perast.
Me too. The last time I was in Kotor the ship was parked when I arrived but the folks from the ship didnt show up in the town until almost 11am. Then they were all gone by 3:30pm. Thats 4.5 hours and that means Perast is a stretch but if they really do get off the ship at 8:30 and really dont have to be back until 5:30 then Perast is an easy fit with the cable car.
