Senior travelers with mobility issues

We have traveled for many years with Rick as our guide. However as we age, we want to keep traveling smartly. Does anyone have advice for mobility support in cities such as Palermo or Valencia? The options are rollator, cane or walking sticks. Thank you.

Travel as you get older gets increasingly difficult if you have mobility issues. My wife can walk short distances but not far enough to travel overseas. She has a folding personal scooter called a Luggie--high line machine. So far, her scooter has gone to Europe 6 times, Alaska, Las Vegas and recently to Toronto. I cannot keep up with her in airports, and she rides to the door of the airplane. At home, we keep it in our trunk and without it she would be homebound.

We have found navigating London's old Circle Line underground tough as most stations are all steps. The modern underground stations have elevators. And she was limited in Venice to a quarter mile area around the train station. But we have been there 10+ times so she knows what's there. Otherwise, she has been able to ride just about anywhere in any city.

But we recognize that at one point, out international travel days will be over. And we may switch over to our motorhome when that day comes.
