Hello me and my girlfriend are planning to travel to Georgia (the country) and was wondering if it would be safe for us? I have read some articles of racism there.
And we do plan on hiking a few mountains while we're over there just want to know if its safe before booking the flight..

The USA State Department site is one of the better sources for finding up to date info on safety traveling in most countries

I can understand your concern. Hoping some people of color who have travelled in this area will weigh in. And the state department website is a good start.

My family and I didn't have any issues when we traveled through Georgia and Armenia about 6 years ago (Asian - brown skinned). And we traveled on our own without any guides or tour.
The places where I have had issues have been in E Slovakia and especially Ukraine (Lviv) where the discrimination was clearly felt.
