Zucchero

We just returned from another great trip to Italy. We started in Florence, then to San Gimignano and ended up in Verona. The highlight of the trip was seeing Zucchero perform in the Arena in Verona. What an amazing experience to see him kick off his new album and tour. 2 hours and forty five minutes of non stop music with a band from all over the world. Was anyone else there?

Sounds wonderful. I once visited the arena in Verona and loved it, even without any performance.

In the train station in Verona, are there still citrus trees planted along the platforms? When I saw those (years ago) I almost burst into tears as the sight reminded me of the Goethe "kennst du das Land, wo die zitronen bluh'n"!

I keep hoping our visits to Italy will coincide with a concert by one of the many Italian singers that I follow. No luck so far.

Still mourning Mina's retirement from live performing.

Epited we did not go to the train station so not sure on the trees there.

Michael, we actually planned our trip around the concert as we really enjoy Zucchero. We saw him perform in the US 2 years ago and had to see him perform at the Arena on his home turf. He is not well known in the US but is like Springsteen in Italy..

I envy you, he's my favorite. Did you get tickets before hand?

I love Zucchero as well... discovered his music on my first trip to Europe, so it always brings back those memories.
Years ago I bought the dvd of Bocelli and it was a live performance at the Leaning Tower.... it is still a dream to live that experience. I always check his schedule when i go to Italy, but no such luck:( I could have seen him a number of times in the US, but am holding out for my dream concert!
