How easy is it to travel by train to Pisa and Lucca from Florence? How long would it take? Where in Florence would you take the train? Is there a bus that goes there ? Thank you

Elsa, I'm assuming you're referring to TUSCANY? As Roberto mentioned, you'll likely be using Firenze S.M. Novella station. Here's a brief description..... http://goeurope.about.com/od/florence/a/florence-trains.htm One other important point to make regarding your rail trips...... If you're using Regionale trains, you MUST validate your tickets prior to boarding the train on the day of travel, or face hefty fines which will be collected on the spot! If you're using "premium" trains such as the Freccia or InterCity trains, you MUST have a compulsory reservation, which will be included with your ticket. The reservations are specific to a particular train and departure time so you MUST use the train specified on your ticket, or again hefty fines. You can see the details on the trains to each of the places you'll be visiting on the Trenitalia website. Happy travels!

As easy as taking a train from New Jersey to NYC. It's one hour to Pisa with the faster Regionale, or a little more with a Regionale that makes stops. You take the train from the train station Firenze Santa Maria Novella, if you stay in Florence city center.
Lucca is 20- min from Pisa (both buses and trains go there). Yes there are also buses that go to both.
