Yet another Covid Testing Question - layover at CDG airport

We will be leaving on our trip to Italy soon. Our biggest concern is with getting the re-entry Covid test when returning to the US. We leave Naples on a weekday morning (Thursday) at 12:20 pm, arriving at CDG airport at 2:40 pm. We then have an overnight layover at an airport hotel and leave the next morning (Friday) on a 10:10 am flight out of CDG. Our quandary is when and where to get our test for our return to the US. We assume that we don’t need the test results for the flight from Naples to CDG. The two options we’re considering are (1) getting the test at the CDG airport upon arriving there on Thursday or (2) doing an online proctored test on Thursday evening (which would require bringing along the test kits from home (which we have) and a laptop for doing the proctored test. Any suggestions as to which route would be easier, or other options we’ve missed? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you have the Binax Now test you can do that over a smart phone or tablet and would not need the laptop. I wouldn't travel right now without some sort of test with me. It's fine to use the airport testing or one suggested by your hotel, but I would bring the proctored home test as a back up just in case.

It is a special Binaxnow test isn’t it? Abbott BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test with eMed Telehealth Services

That is what we bought

I bought 6. Quick shipping. Plan on doing 2 day before we leave, just so we know the routine.

2 for trip home, and 2 just because this is all so crazy and hard to figure out!

We fly to Munich, taking train next day to Salzburg. Then flying from Munich to Amsterdam for 5 nights and an 8 day bike and barge trip.

We have the iHealth test kits, which do require a laptop for monitored tests. We’ll have to look into the BinaxNOW option. Thanks.

You did not state your return date, but I expect the transportation mask mandate and the re-entry testing requirement to end on April 18. That is not yet official, but seems likely based on numerous comments. Nevertheless, be prepared in case a test is still needed when you return.
