Yes, another vaporetto question

If I were to buy a two day vaporetto ticket and the first time I use it I validate the ticket, must I validate the ticket every time I use it? Or do I only validate the first time?
Was I correct in seeing it is 30 euros per 48 hour ticket?
Does the 48 hours start the minute the ticket is purchased or when it is first used?
Thanks for any help.

You use the pass each time that you enter a waiting area...there are scanners..just hold it up to open the gates.
Passes always initiate upon first usage.
Buy the pass at the airport after you collect your bags. I use the combo bus/vaperetto ticket. For your best bang for the buck and convenience it's hard to beat...and it's pretty darned easy to do...

I can't overemphasise the need to tap the pass on the touchpad every single time you prepare to board. Inspectors will check - you may never see one or you may see several during your stay - and if they see you going back to tap after they appear, or if you haven't tapped for that boat or that dock (you need to tap before stepping on the dock because the waiting area is in the paid area) you will get a big on-the-spot fine, even if you pass is completely valid otherwise. Please tap in every time you walk past the machine on your journey. Seeing that some others don't doesn't mean that you shouldn't. They may be in a different situation to yours.

Yes, the two day pass costs €30.

The pass becomes active the first time you validate it by scanning it on one of these machines, found at the entrance to vaporetto platforms.

Enjoy your trip!
