www.rentalinrome.it-reliable company??? Any personal experiences

I've found a great apartment in Rome thru www.rentalinrome.it; but before I book, I was wondering if many out there have used them and have good/bad feedback. The one problem I have with the site is there are no customer reviews of the apartments (which are usually so useful).

While I have never used them personally, I have read many mixed reviews for this company. You should check slowtravel.com and also tripadvisor for reviews. On trip advisor just do an advanced search to find threads about the company. There have been several recently. Donna

That's what I was afraid of. If the reviews are half bad/half good, that's too risky for my tastes! I will take a look on trip advisor, etc. Thanks for the good advice.

Ask about that specific apartment on TA. If no one has stayed there and you can't find any reviews for it, I would move on to another apartment or company. Donna

Try vrbo.com There are lots of reviews. I will be using one of them in April that has good reviews. I've heard others say "when there are no reviews, there's a reason for that and it's usually not good". I also looked around at slow travel and didn't get a warm fuzzy about rentals in rome. I contacted them a few times about the exact location of the bathroom in one unit, and they aren't really forthcoming with information, but I finally got it out of them.

I agree with all of your comments. As much as I liked the apartment in question, it wasn't worth the risk. I have a bad feeling about rentalinrome.it based on too many bad reviews; there are other rental companies that get very good reviews so I went with one of them, sleepinitaly. I found a good apartment, "Balestrati" near Campo Fiori. What's odd is I had previously been quoted the same apartment by another company at a much higher rate. I paid 685 euros for four nights, whereas homeaway/thekeytoitaly quoted me 870 euros. Is that odd? The nice thing about sleepinitaly, other than the better price, is that they only require a 10% deposit as opposed to others that require 20 - 30%.
