Has anyone here booked an apartment or room in Cinque Terre through the website http://www.cinqueterreitaly.co.uk/
I was just trying to be sure that it was a legitimate website and not some fake website that might defraud travelers once they paid their deposits. It is a very informative website with attractive apartments and so easy to maneuver. I just did not see any feedback or recommendations. They are asking for a deposit through a Google site, which sounds legitimate. If anybody has any information, please let us know! Thanks

Search the apartments that you like by name from the website. Then contact the apartment directly by email. You can either book directly or they will tell you to book through a website and you may ask them if this site in question is reliable.

Sometimes you can negotiate a slightly lower rate directly with the landlord.

Liza, I did a google search on http://www.cinqueterreitaly.co.uk and found you posts here and on Rick Steves. Did you find out anything or did you end up staying here? We have found a place and thinking of booking but, like you, wanted to know if it was legit. Have heard about people showing up and being given an apt that was not what they had booked ... not on this site but on others ... so are a bit leary. thanks, Laura

We did not book through that website. After I emailed them and told them that we were ready to book, they never answered me. It might have been a misunderstanding. We booked rooms at Villa Accini in Monterosso through Booking.com and were happy with our rooms. The place is a few uphill steps from the main beach, and they were most helpful with advice, and they also served a very nice continental breakfast in the mornings. We ate at outside tables in July and it was very nice. They do not have a fantastic view from all the rooms (blocked by other buildings), but we weren't in the rooms enough that it mattered. It is a shame that we did not get feedback from that website. They had great rooms in all the towns. We definitely plan to go back to Cinque Terre again. Next time we want to stay in Riomaggiore.
