WWOOF Italy

I am trying to read what others have asked/replied regarding WWOOF-ing in Italy. However, when I put that into the search and get the list of previous posts and then click on them, it brings me to the "general page" listing "to the boot", etc. What is going on? I haven't had this problem before. Or, can anyone give info. on their wwoofing experience in Italy, in particular in the Tuscany/Siena area?

Heidi, the problem with the search option is a known issue with the new format and is being worked on. Hopefully it will be fixed soon as that is something that is used by lots of us on a regular basis.

The Webmaster has explained in this post (scroll way down) that searches won't work until Yahoo indexes the revised website (yes, I'm having the same frustration!)

If you don't want to scroll all the way down, here's what he wrote:

"SEARCH

For those of you currently using our in-house search, clicking on a search return that is a Helpline topic will be broken until Yahoo (that's the service we are using) re-indexes our website. This is an inherent issue due to the rebuild of the Helpline with all the new URLs. It may take two days or it may take two weeks for this to happen. It's entirely up to Yahoo's indexing service."

If you are a US citizen the wwoofing experience has the potential to get you into a lot trouble with immigrations in Italy. Think very carefully about what you are doing.

Heidi,

What Frank said pretty much summarizes the content of all those posts on WWOOFing that you can't read at the moment.

The question comes up quite frequently and the answer is always the same.

Be very careful. You are almost certainly going to run afoul of the immigration regulations and the penalties are both extremely unpleasant and extremely expensive.

Saying that you "are going to stay with friends" almost certainly won't wash and you will wish you weren't caught.

If you follow the current news from Europe, you will see that right now, trying to live and work over here without the proper documentation is an extremely risky proposition. Particularly in southern Europe.
