Would you fly into Pisa to see 5 Terra and know of a Good place to stay ?

Dates. Oct. 7th fly from Hamburg to return on the 12th. Ryanair has listed 383. euro for 4 people. To Fly into Pisa. Would you fly from HH to Pisa or is there a closer airport to 5 terra. Where would you stay in 5 terra, out of all the pics and youtube videos it would seem that Vernazza is the place to be for me and my girlfriend as well as my parents. Do you know of a place to stay for around 45-55 USD a night? Clean and no fancy stuff is all we are looking for.
Your advice is taken to heart, thank you Damion

The Rick Steves Italy 2011 Guidebook has well researched and investigated reviews and recomendations for the Cinque Terre. There have also been many discussions here about it, some as recent as today. Have a scroll around. I think you will be very very hard pressed to do it for €30 a night in October. Good luck

The closest airport to 5 Terre is Pisa, you can take a train from the airport itself to CT. A couple of stops/changes I think. Good luck on the price for a place to stay, check Rick's book or venere.com. Maybe a hostel but I'm not sure if there are any in CT itself.

Do you mean 45-55 USD per person? I dont think you can find any place for 45-55 USD for 4 in CT. Mar-Mar Rooms in Riomaggoire run a hostel, I think it cost 25-30 E per person.
Have a good trip!

I love CT, but have only been there in summer. Several posts in past indicate that Oct. may be a little harsh on weather. I agree on Vernazza, but it seems Monterossa is also somewhat popular. RS guidebook should answer most of your questions. Depending on length of stay, be sure to check luggage weight restrictions on Ryanair, may be costly for heavy packers.

I have stayed in Monterosso in October several times. The weather is usually mild then, and the biggest crowds have gone back to school/work. The commercial beach installations in Monterosso have been taken down, so you have free access to all that sand. There are many hotels/B&Bs in Monterosso. I stay at Mueble Agave (in the RS books) for a very reasonable rate. It is basic, very clean, and just across the street from the beach. I, too, think you will need to pay more for rooms unless you stay in a hostel.

Hi, The first time we went to Tuscany, we did exactly that flew into Pisa, rented a car & drove to Cinque Terre. AFAIK, it is the closest airport. Note that RyanAir will charge you for everything other than your seat all baggage, food, priority boarding etc. So your final costs are going to be higher. Can't help you on where to stay our hotel couldn't be recommended, and it's been a few years since we went. Mathew

My family and I stayed in Vernazza in July and loved this village. While crazy busy during the day, at night it was lovely to sit out on the breakwater and relax. Not sure if you can still do that in October as other(s) have mentioned. It was breezy and slightly chilly in the evenings in July.
