Both of these cards have been called to my attention, I want something I can tap for small items like use of public toilets etc in Italy . I don't want to use a credit card with a large balance. Does anyone have any experience with these? Thanks
They're both just standard debit cards run by UK based fintechs. Opening an account is easy, and you can just add money either from your bank account or via a debit card. Well respected and widely used, but I'm not really clear why you wouldn't just use either your credit card or standard bank debit card, unless they offer a particularly poor exchange rate.
But to answer your question, if you just want a physical or virtual card for purchases, then not much difference between them. If you are regularly receiving money from overseas, Wise is the better option, as it allows you to have a local bank account number in multiple countries.
Revolut not Revolt
I don’t have a particular opinion on these cards, I use my usual credit/debit cards when I travel, but it’s probably worth knowing Revolut hasn’t got the best reputation when things go wrong.
