will be in Naples christmas and new years want to stay in Sorrento few days what can i expect weatherwise.
Only anecdotes from here. Historical data from wunderground.com or similar.
Same as Modesto (Northern Cal.) that time of the year. Probably a little more rain there on the coast, but same temperatures (and no fog, like you guys get in Modesto in winter).
Anecdotal but, we spent a week there (Sorrento) in mid-December 2011 and it was great. Some colder days -- 45 F or so -- but mostly sunny, one thunderstorm, no all day rains. :-) Bring layers, gloves, scarves, hats. Some days you will be able to strip down to a light sweater and some days you will need a fleece and a jacket. Pompeii is a delight when there are no summer crowds so it's worth it to endure a little cool sunshine. Also, be aware that Italians and other Europeans flock to the area for Christmas week. We had a great discounted rate up until Dec 22 when we departed, but were told by our hotel that starting the 23rd they were completely sold out through New Years. Some hotels and restaurants are closed, but Sorrento is still open for business overall.
