Wingfoiling in Italy

We are planning a 2 month trip in Italy this fall and though it is not our number one focus we are looking for a place near the ocean where wingfoiling and SUP is possible. Sardinia and Sicily seem like the 2 most popular areas but we also like the idea of somewhere on the mainland which would make travel in Italy more accessible. We are looking for a small town feel, culture of course, a place that is welcoming to newcomers, opportunities to engage with Italians as we would like to polish our language skills. Any specific recommendations would be most welcome! Favorite areas, favorite towns. We are wide open right now and just beginning to make plans. Grazie mille!

I have no specific experience, but you might like to look at the north eastern side of Lake Garda, north of Malcesine, where there certainly used to be what we call paragliding in the UK.

For wingfoiling:
Lake Garda, although not that windy
Castiglione della Pescaia, Orbetello, Talamone in Grosseto in Tuscany, have also seen Kitesurfers further north in Bibbona so if you've got your own equipment you'd be ok.
But THE place is in Sardegna, for example in the north - Spiaggia Porto Liscia, Isola dei Gabbiani,

saw lots in Vignola Mare yesterday.
For SUP, more popular on the lakes, apart from Lake Garda I've seen them on Lake Iseo too, which is a smaller lake so usually calmer
