Between Venice and Varenna I would like to stop near Lake Garda and find a winery that produces Bardolino Chiaretto. Will be traveling by train in early October 2023. TIA.

Using Google Maps you can zoom into the area delimited by the triangle formed by the towns of Bardolino, Lazise, Cavaion, on the east side of Lake Garda (that is the Chiaretto zone)
Then in the search box enter Google CANTINA, or also DEGUSTAZIONE VINI.
A bunch will pop up. You can click on the results and see details and reviews.
There are several in the towns of Bardolino and Lazise.
Or you can go to the website of the Chiaretto and Bardolino wine producers’ Association and check the individual wine cellars listed.

few years back we went to the wine festival (festa dell'uva e del vino) in bardolino on the lake. it was fabulous, fun with lots of wine & food served with fireworks over lake on last day. spent sunday night at hotel nettuno and left monday, going back to venice, we rented a car.

stop at a bar/restaurant even in pescheira del garda near train station. have some of the bardolino wine and appetizers/lunch. if you want to go to bardolino, there maybe a bus or take a taxi. we loved the small town of bardolino to roam around, have some wine, enjoy the views on the lake and the mountains.
