Wine Tour/Tasting in Chianti

Hi, my family and I will be traveling to around Italy in April, 2012. We are planning a one day trip to Chianti and would like to book a vineyard/cellar tour and tasting and lunch. There are hundreds of vineyards, and I would like some help narrowing the search. Can anyone suggest a place that we can do this at with a group of about 19 people? Thank you for any feedback!

We had a great day tour with Tours by Roberto, a Rick Steves' pick. Includes winery, Etruscan tomb site, history, scenery, and a fabulous lunch.

Absolutly! Go to www.verrazanno.com--we had a spectacular luncheon and tasting along with a tour--tasting consisted of 4 wines along with either a dessert wine or grappa. They even have a veggie option for the lunch. We can't wait to do it again. Check out their website.

Thank you do much for the info! Also, about how long did you spend there - was it a half day trip or should I plan on it being a full day?

sorry - but do you have a specific place name, as this website seems to be taking me to a pizza place in the USA...
Thanks!

Gina, try the verrazzano site again. Or google rhe name and the word "winery" after it. I enjoyed a fabulous Tour and luncheon there. Allow about 3 hours or more.

Go to Panzano and go to the "Accademia del Buon Gusto" and do some wine tasting with Stephano, then eat lunch (or better yet, dinner! OMG! we did both)at Dario's. Read the reviews in Trip Advisor. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g635878-d2343402-r120565713-Accademia_del_Buon_Gusto-Panzano_Tuscany.html http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g635878-d1427138-Reviews-Mac_Dario-Panzano_Tuscany.html Don't miss wine tasting with Stephano...you will never have an experience like this again. For a great one-two punch, you could wine taste in Stefano's tasting room and arrrange with him to take you on a vineyard/cellar tour. But I think that your group would have more fun at the Accademia, and then lunch afterwards at Dario's. http://www.accademiadelbuongusto.com/

Verrazzano is great if you want to visit a castle. However if you are looking to visit a simple authentic vineyard in the Chianti Classico region you can't do much better than Azienda Montefioralle http://www.aziendamontefioralle.com Either, or both, would make a wonderful day in Tuscany for your guests.
