Can you please suggest wineries to visit. We will be staying in Pienza three nights, renting a car in Siena and returning it in Orvieto.
Reading other postings we understand that most wineries require prior reservations. Does anyone know of websites that list all the wineries in the area and their contact information? Also, can you recommend a wine tour company .

Haven't taken the tour yet, but have a reservation in October for a Chianti-region tour with Roberto. Roberto has been on Rick Steves' show, and is recommended in the guides. Check out the options at http://www.toursbyroberto.com/. The compnay seems very well organized and responsive to email inquiries.

Usually they all offer a free tasting of their wines and the entrance is absolutely free. Opening time 10/13 15/19

LOra, Make sure and go to Mp. Absolutely the most wonderful food, please try the Ai Quatrro Venti for lunch or dinner wonderful food and they really know their wine. I hope you are there for truffle season!!! Try Contucci tavern for a wonderful wine tasting. Adamo will take good care of you, and there is no pressure to buy, though you probably will! there is also a little reataurant in the top of the town called Osteria del Conti, that wife and I really liked. Family run, good food, and great atmosphere. the Sea bass was top notch, and they advised me to wait until the seafood came in fresh! Have a great time! Jeff
