Greetings! My friend and I will be in Rome at the end of March and are interested in finding a wine tour that will take us to a vineyard or winery out of the city. We did this in Florence and had a fantastic time and are hoping to repeat this from Rome. Any suggestions or experiences you want to pass along would be MUCH appreciated! There are many things that come up on Google, but your experiences and comments make me more confident that we are taking part in a great day!
I beleive you can find a tour of the Frascati Region and/or winery -- it's just outside of Rome. The "Appian Line Tour Company" might have a tour. I haven't done this but was recently researching this possibility for our trip to Rome this coming July. Good luck!
Hi Katie, My girlfriend and I did a wine tour with Diego and Alessio from Nunc Est Bibendum. http://www.nebtour.it/English/Tours/Castelli_Romani/Struttura_eng.htm It was the best day of our entire trip to Rome! We went in October and they took us to 2 wineries (one in the morning, the other in the afternoon) and we visited Castel Gandolfo, a nice town right off the lake where the Pope summers and we had a delicious Italian lunch. Not sure if the intinerary would be the same in March. I'm sure they'll give you more details if you email them and ask. Buona fortuna!
