Does anyone know where we can do a wine tasting in or near Cinque Terre? We'd love to taste the local wine but also willing to travel by train to do a wine tasting, if this is doable by train anywhere near CT.
I've heard enthusiastic feedback on www.burancocinqueterre.it (Monterosso, in Rick's book) and also the program that Gianni Franzi offered at his pension/restaurant in Vernazza last year (but this year's plan doesn't appear to be online, yet).
While not technically wine tasting (there's food involved), we found Ristorante Belforte in Vernazza pours some of the best locally produced wines from the region. Let Andrea suggest a glass or bottle (to be) paired with that day's specials, preferably enjoyed on the terrace at sunset, and you'll have a fantastic memory.
We tasted A LOT of wine in Cinque Terre.
No, this is not at all what you are asking, but I couldn't help but it when I saw your post... :-)
Are you staying in the CT? If so ask the person you staying with or renting the apt from. We did that in September and I asked our owner about that. He hooked us up with one of his friends Bartolo and we helped picked grapes during the harvest and he showed us the basement wine making area under his house and gave us tastings. What a great day.
This one is in Vernazza- http://savevernazza.com/wine-food-discovery
