Wine day in Veneto

Hi everyone.

I'll be in Verona for a few days in 2 weeks. We would like to spend a day visiting different wineries, we have a car (and DD). Just looking for route recommendations. Ok with a longer day, right now we are tentatively heading to Soave first thing in the morning..where is best to head from there? We were thinking maybe seeing three different areas if travel time is reasonable, ending back in Verona.

thanks in advance!

I should also mention, we aren't totally opposed to hiring a tour if that's the best thing to do, but we would prefer to bounce around at our leisure. Not sure if many of the wineries allow walk in tastings like you can Sonoma or Napa?

In Verona there’s a wonderful restaurant that has about 30 different wines available by the glass and great local dishes. Try L’Orologio at Corso Porto Nuova 7, just a five minute walk from the Roman arena. You won’t be disappointed. Remember that DUI laws in Europe are much stricter than in the US so you might want to consider a tour to the vineyards.

Soave has several to visit in side of the walls. Try the Strada del vino Soave. This is a self guided tour of the wine in the area around Soave. Cantina de Soave has a nice tour.
