Will vaporetto be affected by Venice regatta on Sun, Sept 4?

Does anyone know how the vaporetto schedule will be affected by the Boat Regatta on the Grand Canal on Sunday, Sept 4? Our group wants to take the #1 from Piazzale Roma in the early evening -

That means that the GC will be shut down between 3:00 pm and 7 pm, with the exception of the Piazzale Rome to Rialto line, which will shut down at 3:30. I would anticipate heavy vaporetto traffic after they start back up at 7.

You PM'ed me to say that you need to get to either the Giardini or Arsenale vaporetto stops. The nice thing with the vaporetti in Venice is that all the lines go in two directions - clockwise or counter-clockwise. You can still take the 1 or 41, just don't take it in the direction of the Grand Canal. Go the other direction and it will get you to your destination. There's a good map here (after you study it a little to decipher it): ACTV map of vaporetti Happy travels.

Thanks for the map and advice! It looks to me like the 1 only goes along the Grand Canal, but I can see how the 41 does more of a loop. Wow, if we go clockwise from Piazzale Roma, we can avoid the Grand Canal/San Marco Canal... And do you you that the clockwise routes will be running during the Regatta? If so, you have solved our dilemma!

Yeah, you're right about the #1. And they're only shutting down the GC (Grand Canal) part of the routes, so you should be fine with the other one.
