Does anyone know if I can exchange a bus ticket purchased on the Aerobus website for a different day due to flight itinerary changes? My entire flight itinerary was changed and now I need to get the bus from Bologna airport to the Bologna train station on a different day. I already paid for the tickets. Only that it says that tickets are nonrefundable. It is only 6 EUR. Another reason not to buy tickets ahead of time that can easily bought when you need them. Been there, done that. Its just a minor cost of your flight itinerary being changed. See if you can exchange it when you arrive.
You could give it a shot and see what the driver says. He might just shrug and let you on. (As mentioned, this is a good example of why not to buy some tickets in advance so maybe someone else will benefit from your experience.)
FWIW, you buy the bus tickets from the driver as you board the Bologna bus into town. Get ready for a very bumpy ride.
Thank you for your advice! I have had very bumpy rides in Hawaii around a very high volcano...so I think I can manage this one! hahaha! Anyway, if I have to pay 6 more euros it isn't a huge loss. Plus, I can speak Italian. Maybe that will help.
One more thing..This is my fifth time to Florence. (I am taking the train from Bologna to Florence.) This is the first time I have ever had a slight problem. I always bought all of my tickets ahead of time. I just feel more comfortable that way.
I'm curious, vmcarson, about the advanced tickets. Were they electronic so you just kept them on your phone, or did they arrive via email in a printable PDF format?
HI Michael! They were printable tickets. I am not sure if you could use your phone. I suppose if you used your phone to access the internet the scan code would be same.
