Why are train schedules WILDLY different on each website?

I want to purchase advance first class tickets between Milan-Venice, Venice-Florence, Florence-Rome. The raileurope webiste shows dozens of trains each day but the Trenitalia site only shows a few. Why? The times that I want to travel are not showing up on the Trenitalia site.

Trenitalia typically shows only a few trains for the scheduled day, not all trains that day. Did you enter a time of day to travel on Trenitalia? You must do that. Otherwise itnwill default to local time which may be in the middle of the night. I like to enter 9 am to see the trains departing throughout the morning. If that is not the problem, maybe you are looking too far in advance, like for October or so? Trenitalia may not show trains that far in advance, although lately we have heard ofnpeople buying tickets 3 months or so in advance. Once you get the schedules figured out, buying on Trenitalia will give you best prices.

I am travelling in October and I figured that is too far in advance, so I was using dates in July just to get a handle of prices and schedule so that I could ensure that we had the ability to get from once city to the next withing a particular "window" of time. By entering the time and then also clicking on "all solutions" followed by the "next" button, I am now able to see the schedule for the entire day. Thank you!

When you enter your information for the cities and dates you wish to travel you must also enter the time of travel. They will default to the current time so if you are on the site a 4 pm and don't change it to 7 am you'll only get the trains from 4pm on. The trenitalia site will show you all the trains if you enter all the information. You can click on the option to show all solutions it'll show you all the trains available. Donna
