which Venice train station?

I am hoping to travel from Padova into Venice to do some sightseeing. Can anyone tell me which train station in Venice I should use? Also can anyone estimate how much the ticket will be on a regional train? Apparently I cannot book a regional train ticket until 7 days before hand. I'm trying to get an idea of what the cost will be. any suggestions? Thank you.

Venezia Santa Lucia station. Euro 3.55 ($5) one way per person.
No need to pre purchase a regionale ticket. Just buy at the station when you go there. There are at least 3 - 4 trains per hour from Padova to Venezia.

Venezia Santa Lucia is the only station in Venice proper - Venezia Mestre is on the mainland, several kilometers away.

You can tell how much a Regionale train ticket will be by plugging in the correct day of the week that you'll be traveling. For instance, if you're going to travel on April 3, that's a Wednesday, so enter in a Wednesday within 7 days from now, (in this case, Feb 13.)
