Which train station is best for Cinque Terre?

Staying in Manarola, Cinque Terre. Taking train from Milan. Which station is easiest and most convenient? La Spezia, Monterossa or another/better option?

Leaving Cinque Terre, we will be traveling by train to Terontola-Cortona. Which station is best to depart Cinque Terre from?

When you book it Milan to Manarola you will see where you need to get off to possibly connect to Manarola which has its own stop. I am guessing that the train from Milan may stop in Monterosso the biggest station, you would get off there and take the regional train aka Cinque Terre Express to Manarola.

Same thing when booking to leave. You put in your departure city Manarola and arrival city Terontola-Cortona and the booking will show where you need to get off to connect.

You can get an idea of the schedule and connections simply by researching your travel dates on this site

The InterCity train from Milan and Genoa will stop at both Monterosso and La Spezia. From either one you change to a regional train to Manarola. Check the Trenitalia schedules to see which one works out better.

Kathy,

As the previous replies have indicated, the "best station" is the town you're staying in, as each of the towns has a station.

What time are you travelling from Milan? One of the quickest trips will be to use one of the direct (no changes) Intercity trains from Milano Centrale to Monterosso, and then connect with the local Regionale train from there to Manarola (it only takes a few minutes). You can see all the solutions on the Trenitalia website.
