My husband, 26 year old daughter and I are trying to decide whether to stay in Sorrento, Positano or Amalfi. We enjoy looking at ruins, art, wandering around, hiking, wine tasting , window shopping and beautiful scenery with easy beach access. Any ideas? Thank you in advance

How many nights do you have? For ruins, a bit south of Salerno is Paestum: ruins, excellent small museum, beaches, mozzarella farms. You can also take a ferry to the Amalfi Coast towns from Salerno.
If you could have one night in Paestum (hotel owners will meet you at the train station), and a couple of nights in Sorrento (easy access to Pompei, Archeological Museum in Napoli, Ercolano (Herculaneum).
My favorite places on the Amalfi Coadt itself are Praiano and Ravello.
I failed to mention that we will be there a week.
Then I would say two nights in Paestum, two in Ravello, the rest in Sorrento.
