My husband and I will be in Rome in July and want to do the Colosseum underground and third ring tour. I know Walks of Italy is highly recommended, but have heard that Dark Rome is good as well. They are both over $100. Coop Culture is much cheaper -I think around 25 Euros, and I see that Rome-museum.com has a night tour that is only 24 Euros. I'm surprised by the difference in prices, which makes me a little worried about booking with the cheaper tours. They must be quite different in some way. I'd love to hear other's experiences with these tours before we make our decision.
Thanks!

I believe the private companies also include a tour of the forum and palatine hill. The official underground tours are very good and informative. I would save the money and book through the official site. If you want a tour of the forum you can book a Friday night tour for 20 euros.

Coop culture is the official site, which means these are the tours run by the colosseum. In addition you need to buy the ticket for entry. The others I assume are third party so are charging you for their guide on top off what is paid to the Colloseum. we did the official one (Coop Culture) last year and really enjoyed it. Im sure the others are good but I would see the point in paying the extra. (Im sure Donna will add to this comment or correct me if I have lead you astray)
I absolutely agree with you. The official tours are very good and it makes no sense to pay more than you need to a third party vendor.

Thank you! I was worried those lower prices were too good to be true. I love that they are legit! Thanks so much for your help!
