Which side of the train - Rome to Florence

Is there is a 'best' side of the train to sit on when taking the Frecci train from Rome to Florence in the afternoon?

Also, is it correct that only EU citizens can register for the Cartafreccia card? (They can buy tickets for less than the super economy fare on some routes).

Thanks.

The landscape is the same on both sides - in the first hour is very relaxing as the line crosses green and relatively empty valleys. If you stay on the left side you can see Orvieto and its Cathedral on the top of a hill for a few seconds as you speed by.

The windows are so big that you can see both sides.

IMO, it was all a blur, anyways.
