Which museum to visit in Milan?

Hello friends, I will be visiting Milan on the day before my 17 day tour starts with Rick Steves, flying in a day early. I will only have one day and I’m not sure which museum to visit any thoughts? Thank you, Rhonda.

Will the tour visit the Last Supper? If you can get tickets, well worth it.

Do you know what you are visiting in Milan once the Rick Steves tour begins? Because I would pick the Duomo/Duomo Museum combination ticket, unless, of course, that's on the tour...

The Rick Steve tour doesn’t start till the next day, do you or does anybody know about the ambrosia museum? Is that something worth visiting? Thank you.!!

And I got tickets to the Last Supper!!! I’m planning on doing that tour after I drop my luggage off at the hotel that morning, then doing a museum in the afternoon after lunch.

Potential oddball answer but if you're interested in fashion the Armani Silos are an amazing collection. Multiple floors of clothes that you can walk around and examine up close.

Have a great trip,

Pinacoteca Ambrosiana is worth visiting, but if you can only visit one, I would visit Pinacoteca di Brera.

I enjoyed the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana because I wanted to see the cartoon (sketch) from Raphael of the School of Athens which is a fresco in the Vatican Museum knowing I would see it later. I also wanted to see Da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus. This museum is fairly small and would be doable for me on an arrival day from the US when I am tired.

Are you going to stay overnight in Milan and then go up to Varenna on the day the tour starts? If you are overnighting, I'd recommend staying at the Hotel Gran Duca di York which is directly across the street from the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and about a 5 minute walk from the Duomo. I stayed here for 2 nights before my Best of Italy trip but I had plenty of time and also went up to Varenna 2 nights ahead of the tour start.
