I saw some things online stating only two entrances to Pompeii were open with limited tickets being sold due to Covid, but the ticketone.it site seems to have tickets to all three entrances available.
The last time we went was with a tour group, so I believe we entered through the Porta Marina entrance. If all entrances are open, is one better than the others for a self guided tour?
Anyone have any idea?
The official site mentions nothing about restricted entrance. I suppose that can change at any time, but if you buy tickets thrpough the authorized vendor, then I would assume you are OK.
Late to the game here but if you're arriving via the Circumvesuviana or Campania Express train from Naples or Sorrento, Porta Marina will be your most convenient entrance. According to the map, it's also the only one of the 3 with audio guides available, if that's of interest to you.

It is inconceivable that the Porta Marina entrance would be closed. This site looks pretty official to me:

I wasn't even aware that Porta Marina had two separate "entrances". (referring to link just above.)
This is a specialist detail, but the Villa Misteri entrance is often closed or one-way out. It's a microscopic entrance, It is mainly of value if (like we did) you leave Villa Misteri for last, and want to avoid the hot, Roman city walk back to Porta Marina. It's a short modern sidewalk walk back to the Porta Marina rail station and entrance. Note that the Villa Misteri itself is often closed, because of the actual frescoes being there, their fragility, and conservation works.

As your trip is still over a month out (early Sept, I believe?) do check the website now and again for any updates.
