I will leaving the town of Vernazza in Cinque Terre going to Venice. I was looking for the shortest time travel. Do I go to La Spezia or should I go to Monterosso and then catch a larger train to Venice? Which is easier if changing trains are involved?

Felecia, the quickest run to Venice from the CT is the 7:52am train out of La Spezia. There is one train change on this run at Bologna to a Eurostar. All other runs go through Milan or Florence and take up to an hour longer.
Next, fewer trains stop at Vernazza than Monterosso or Riomaggiore. Thus, if you want to get to La Spezia in time for this train, you need to depart earlier in the morning to get there for the train.

The reason to get there early is that there is a McDonalds at the La Spezia train station where you can pick up some food for your trip. Message back if you want more info on the 7:52am run.
