I am flying into Milan on Sept 1st 2012, but there are so many airports to choose from. Which one do I fly in? From Milan, I will be taking a train to Florence for 3 days, then to Venice for 2 days, and the Dolomites for 7 days. Any suggestions on who and how to rent a car in Venice? Thanks.
Linate is closer to the city center but I believe most flights from the US come into Malpensa. I could be wrong.
It will be either Malpensa (MXP) or Linate (LIN), but it all depends upon what airline(s) you'll be flying.
Thank you, good to know.
Ciao Sammee, The two times that my family and I have visited Milano, we've flown into Linate. Linate is a small airport thats very easy to navigate and its only about a 15 minute taxi ride to the piazza Duomo. Regarding car rental in Venice. I have had good luck with Autoeurope which is a broker, they find the best deal for you. We've picked up and dropped off cars at Piazzale Roma which is at the end of the causeway that connects the mainland to La Serenessima (Venice). Its easy to reach by Vaporetto. Cordiali Saluti,
David
It is easier to travel to Malpensa if your destinations is elsewhere by train and you do not plant spending on taxis.
