Which agriturismo to see much of Tuscany?

I'm traveling through Tuscany with a friend this next summer, and since we have a car, I want to see several hilltowns. I'm debating choosing one agriturismo to stay at and take day trips, instead of spending a night or two in several different towns. Any suggestions for a central, reasonably priced agriturismo? It would be a week's stay.
Thanks!

We stayed at Agriturismo Marciano in Siena in Sept '09 & loved it. The rate was extremely reasonable, the location was great, the optional dinners were outstanding and the room itself was very cozy and comfortable. It was a fantastic experience and we really enjoyed it. We had a rental car and took day trips to various places. I personally would stay in one place and take day trips rather than have to change hotels every night. You can read the reviews on Trip Advisor for Agrit. Marciano. Have a great trip.

What Sheron said. We stayed at Agriturismo Marciano in September 2010 and it was one of the highlights of our 3 weeks in Italy. If you stay there, DO NOT MISS the optional dinners. They are not offered every day, but the food and wine are fantastic. The best we had. The entire place was wonderful and the location, just outside of Siena, was very convenient for visiting hill towns.

Thanks for the advice - Siena was on my list to visit and stay out, so this sounds like a great location!
How far was the drive from this Agrit. to the surrounding towns? I don't mind some driving, but I don't want to spend hours each day in the car. Thanks for the help!

We stayed at agriturismo "la Fonte" in Villamagna. About an hours drive from Pisa. Only a half hour from Volterra and a half hour from San Gimingnano. We stayed for 2 weeks and there was plenty to see and do. I would definitely stay in one place for the entire week.

Hi Kelly. We visited Volterra, Montepulciano, Pienza and San Gimignano (and of course Siena) & I would say that the drive was about an hour (give or take) to each location. It wasn't bad at all. We used our Garmin GPS & my husband really enjoyed driving there. I personally think that Siena makes a nice home base for exploring Tuscany.

We stayed @ Agricturismo Cretaiole near Pienza. Had day-trips to Siena, Montepulciano, and Montalcino. Isabella has some great options, including lunch in the wine cellar of a family winery and another lunch at an organic farm nearby. Also dinner where the hospital stay of Ralph Fiennes in "The English Patient" was filmed. Civita de Bagnoregio was another, slightly longer, day trip, as well as Assisi. While at Cretaiole you'll learn to make 'pici' and have a Wed. night feast. We loved it.
