Does the tour hotel not have availability?

We like the Aberdeen. It's in walking distance from Termini. Lots of restaurants in the area, but quiet and safe. Just off Via Nazionale, and Piazza della Republica, so easy to get public transportation. Walk to the Colosseum.

The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is good, and the rooms are clean.

Why not just stay at the tour hotel. It makes it nice because you don’t have to change. If you are in the Hotel Smeraldo for the tour the location is excellent.

Carol now retired The Dharma Hotel is listed as "first" on the tour, so I think that's the one we should use...it's listed on the email I received WAY back in October, LOL.

We are on the Best of South Italy tour that starts in Rome on May 21st. However, the Hotel Smeraldo has been booked up for several weeks. Looking for recommendations of another hotel in the area.

I agree! We stayed at the Dharma for the BOE tour in 2019 and liked it. We added additional days since it was the end of tour and they kept us in the same room. It was convenient to the train station, so that should help when you arrive from the airport. We found it nice and clean, and was affordable for us. I would just do that rather than change hotels for the start of the tour.

brhrbr contact the tour hotel ASAP if you want to stay there. By email, not through booking site. Tour hotels at start and end, usually set aside a block of rooms for people wanting extra nights. Thats why RS sends you their names long before the tour. But they only hold them for so long, or they fill fast.
