Where to stay near Frasassi Caves/Adriatic Coast

We are planning a month in Umbria next spring and are wanting to drive to Frasassi Caves and the Adriatic Coast for an overnight stay. Looking for recommendations for overnight stay either near the caves or on the coast not a far drive from the caves. Thank you!!

We visited Frassasi as a day trip from Senigallia. It’s a charming town on the beach — our favorite restaurant had tables right on the sand. I’d actually recommend more than one night there. It’s known for its restaurants— it had two Michelin starred restaurants at the time.

Thank you! I was looking at Senigallia as a spot to stay. It will be late April so probably not warm enough for the beach, but we would like to see the Adriatic coast area.

If you’d like to splurge in some R&R there is a famous spa and hotel right at the caves.

If you prefer the coast, then Senigallia is a good choice (about one hour drive alway). Near Ancona there is also a very quaint village, called Sirolo, on the Mount Conero coast, which is probably the most beautiful part of the coast in the region.

If you have time try to visit also the village of Corinaldo, not far from Frasassi or Senigallia.

Ohhh, Sirolo! I looked at that a few years ago, that might work great, we want to check out the park as well. Maybe it would be wise to do 2 days one day the caves and that area and the next the Mount Conero area for a hike. Any hotel, B&B, Agritourismo recommendations? Thank you!

I stopped en route between Senigallia and a small town called Sassoferrato. There is a ton of excellent hiking in the area.
Fabriano might be a good option for a town close by. Sirolo is indeed gorgeous--we also took a day trip there from Senigallia. Definitely give yourself two days if you can!

Thanks!!! We are in Umbria for a month, we have a house for base and while we don't want to be double paying for lodging, 2 days would be ok to see that area. We are hikers, so have a nice beautiful hike day would be doable for sure.

Also, unless you are bilingual, do check in about the times/availability for English tours. Our guide was one of the first to explore the cave and he was fantastic--and we were so lucky to be one of the few English speaking people there that day. We had a very small, sedate group.

Great tip!!! We can speak enough Italian to get by and have a simple conversation, but not likely to understand the tour guide. Thanks alot! We always plan ahead so that is very good to know to set up an English speaking tour guide! Did you take the more in depth tour where you have to "dress out"? We are interested to see what that is about. Seems there are two levels of these tours and we are considering the the less intense tour. Thanks again!!

We definitely did the less intense tour, but the other one sounds fun. I get mildly phobic touring things like catacombs, but this experience was first class--the paths are wide and everything is well lit, so I never felt nervous.
I'm a total science/nature nerd, and I felt this was experience was well worth it, not just a "hey, look at that funny stalactite" kind of thing.
