a friend and myself are plannig to spend 3 days in Vencie to do photography. Any suggstions og 3 star places to stay in old Venice.

Venice is all old except the train station and the parking area. Do you want to be in the middle of the action or would you prefer a more residential area? We prefer the Dorsoduro area. Easy to get to all of Venice but somewhat less crowded. All of Venice is photogenic. When are you planning on visiting? We are returning in June.

Venice is so small, and so easy to get around on foot or vaporetto, that you can pretty much stay anywhere on the island. You can do a search here for the many previous recommendations for accommodations.

As CJean stated, Venice is small enough that where you stay doesn't matter. Having done a great deal of serious photography, I would be remiss if I didn't "insist" that you go to the islands of Murano and Burano. Google them both and you'll see what a photo nut's dream they are.
