Where to stay in Umbria, looking at Ferentillo

I will be traveling to Italy(first time in Italy, solo traveler) for my birthday from Nov 13-25. I will be splitting my time between Florence and Rome. In between Florence and Rome I would like to stay in a farmhouse or apartment that overlooks the countryside for a couple of days. I have been looking into the Umbria region and found a wonderful apartment to rent out in Ferentillo (commune outside of Terni) but I'm not sure if there would be much to do. The views are fantastic, however I will be there for 2 days (one of which will be my actual birthday) and would like to make a great choice. For anyone who has been to Ferentillo, any advise? For those who have been to the Umbria region, any suggestions on other provinces to stay?

Some info
1. Will be using Airbnb
2. Coming in from Florence and headed to Rome afterwards
3. Would like to stay in the town and not visit neighboring places
4. Would be okay with renting a car if train station is too far away
5. Looking for a relaxing, lowkey two days.

If you do not want to rent a car, then I would suggest Orvieto which has a beautiful hilltown but also has agriturismos (farm houses) down below. This past Spring I stayed in Cortona which is also accessible by train. I stayed below the hilltown which is, by the way, a gem in itself. Took a day trip to Assisi. Have a great trip!

Here's another vote for Orvieto. There's enough to do for two days and it's really beautiful. Here are some photos I took when we were there in 2011, if you want to get an idea:

Well there is nothing wrong with Terni. It is low key. Go see Cascata Marmore if you visit Terni. Check the schedule for times the falls are on and off.

I don't know Ferentillo specifically.

Orvieto has one of the most beautiful cathedrals of Italy. It's rather small, but is well provided with hotels. (The railway station has a handy - and cheap - connection to the city above: the »funiculare«.) Nearby Narni is a classical hill town. (There is a bus from the railway station to the town, but the timetable isn't very clear.)
Another option is Spoleto, although a long journey from Florence. I've got good memories of the place. Wonderful Assisi is less than 1 hr away.
