After many hours of research and searching for accommodations through AirBnB, we have decided to stay in the East coast of Sardinia for 3 night in July of 2018 (July 1-4). My husband and myself will be on a three week vacation and that is the time we have allotted to for this stop, Obviously, we know that 4 days is not enough time on this big beautiful island but we dont have more time.
We will be flying from Paris into the airport in Olbia, We will be renting a car. Is the airport the best place to rent the car from? Or is there another location/rental car company that we should go to to pick up a rental car? Do we need to get a driving permit?
This are our must do's:
1.Eat delicious food and drink good wine.
2.Visit a few shops for some unique authentic items (walk around to burn-off the delicious food...hahaha).
3.Visit as many beautiful beaches as possible by car and by boat (no hiking for us). We want to rent a boat and go to Cala Luna and the other beaches in the area of Golfo di Orosei, We understand that some of the towns that might be great to stay at are a bit far from this area but we do not mind driving unless you dont think its time efficient.
These are the areas/towns in which we have found the best AirBnB's at reasonable prices (from North to South):
1 .Golfo Aranci
2. Porto San Paolo
3. Costa Dorata
4.Siniscola
5.Cala Gonone
When considering the best place to stay we are looking for a place with good restaurants and a nice town to walk around in and relax after a day at the beaches. If the town happens to have a beautiful beach...even better.
If you know of any good company/person to rent a boat from to go to all the beaches,,,please let me know.
After our 4 days in Sardinia we are flying to Naples to stay 5 days Positano/Amalfi and then onto a 5 day stay in Tuscany, I plan to start a New Topic asking for recommendations on these two areas also.
Thank You
