Ok so I am planning a trip to Rome all on my own, you know one of those trips w/o kids where you just want to blend in. I am on a tight budget and need ideas on hostels or convents or anything of the sort where I can stay. Please help!!

Check out the beehive it is a hostel but has a few private rooms with shared bathrooms. THey only have one dorm room. When I was there my room had all ages from 19 to around 70. The room is bigger than any hostels I have every stayed in and has around 4 bunk beds. Wendy

First, DEFINE CHEAP !! It has no meaning by itself. Rome, as most major cities in Europe, tends to be expensive.

since it's just me I would not want to spend more than $100 per night. I want to get the most out of this trip and plan on spending the bulk of my money on the places I visit such as The Vatican, Colloseum, etc. I also do not eat much but will most defiently have one nice, expensive dinner al fresco,LOL.
