I was looking at a monestary or convent in Rome, Italy to stay. Does anybody have any suggestions. I want to stay cheap. But I leave in a week. Any ideas. Please help.
Bill, you might try this article which has a list of monastaries and convents in Rome: Hotel Alternatives in Rome
You can try looking here: http://www.monasterystays.com/ I have never used that site so can't tell you if it's good or bad. Did you check out venere.com for cheap hotels? You don't say what your budget is but you may be able to find something on venere. Also, have you checked out the Beehive? It gets very good reviews. Donna
You're probably too late, however, you can try the Casa La Salle or Santa Maria alle fornachi. You can check them out on Trip Advisor, however, will probably have to call to see about availablity. Also, go to www.santasusanna. org click on"coming to Rome" and they have a list you can contact, but again, you'll probably need to call them direct as the way most reply to e-mail is kind of iffy.
We've stayed at Santa Maria alle Fornaci and it was basic but very comfortable. Also, we've used B & B Association of Rome to find reasonably-priced accommodations (http://www.b-b.rm.it/).
You might also try vrbo.com and put in your travel dates - sometimes the owners run specials if they have blanks in their calendars.
