Where to stay in Naples for early flight?

Family of 4 has a 7am flight out of Naples next summer. Looking for recommendations on where to stay that night. Do not need anything fancy.

Also, would you recommend Uber to get to the airport?

The area of Chiaia, near Piazza Plebiscito is good. Take a regular taxi to the airport, ask the hotel to call it for you. Uber X is not available in Italy due to a court decision that banned that type of shared service. Über Black, a luxury black limo service driven by professionals, is present only in Rome, Milan and Florence.

My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Naples in 2015. The front desk was very pleasant when we checked in...at 1:00 in the morning (delayed flight out of SFO). We had a early flight to Sicily the next morning. The hotel got us the taxi and the ride there was not long at all. Would stay there again if we had a flight out of Naples.

The Naples airport is pretty close to the main part of town (not like Rome and Venice). At that hour of the morning (4 or 5am) you should expect 15min ride (if that) from pretty much anywhere. If you are in Naples for the night just because of your flight just get some place (Holiday Inn) near the airport.

I wouldn't do Uber. Since you have four people have your hotel book you a private car or taxi. Don't skimp on transportation when you are trying to make a flight! Confirm again with the hotel front desk before going to bed (maybe ask about early breakfast service and a wake-up call). I worked for in American hotels for years and we kept a log of car bookings to reconfirm in the morning and to be on the look out for so someone else doesn't take your booking. I would even pack goodie bags for early departures...but I was a four-star Concierge so maybe that is not typical in Italy.

Its not absolutely necessary to stay near the airport even for a 7am flight. Taxis will be the best way to get to the airport early in the morning. In that case, staying your last night in the city will make for a more memorable experience than at the airport. However, if you need to stay at the airport, hotels can be found on lots of booking sites. Try www.airporthotelguide.com or www.tripadvisor.com for suggestions. Otherwise Rick's Italy guidebook will have the recommendations we can make on hotels in Naples. I hope this helps some.

Thank you all for your advice. I decided to use points and stay at the generic Holiday Inn (I know, lame).

I think we all are going to be wiped out, but if we do want to head into Naples, about how far is the hotel from the city center?
