Where to stay in Cinque Terra

Ciao! My wife and I would like to know if anyone can recommend a place to stay in the Cinque Terra region. We will have spent 10 days in Venice, a week in Florence, and have two days in CQ before flying home from Milan. We are looking (as always) for charming and romantic. We'll be there at the very end of May. Thank you for any suggestions! Tom

I started lookin in CT at the beginning of February and things were booking fast then. One resource I used was the website: http://www.arbaspaa.com/ It seems to cater to Europeans, judging by the languages it has. Good luck!

Tom, Have you started to book Hotels, etc. yet? If possible, you might consider dropping a day or two from Venice, as you'll need to allow for travel times to and from the Cinque Terre. While the trip is reasonably short from either Florence or Milan, you'll need to allow for at least half a day in each direction. If you have to use a full day for travel times and spend only one day in the C.T., it might not be worth the effort. Before recommending accommodations, I'd suggest that you have a look at the Italy Guidebook, to get some idea which part of the "Cinque Terre region" you want to stay in. Most here prefer one of the five villages, but each of them has a slightly different character, so you'll have to decide which best fits your criteria. Accommodations in all of the villages consist mostly of small B&B's rather than conventional hotels, so these tend to be somewhat more "informal" in nature. Although I'm a bit out of touch with "charming and romantic", one place that might fit is This B&B in Manarola, however it's not cheap! The best selection of more "conventional" Hotels will be in Monterosso, which is the most northerly of the five villages. As you're planning to be there at the end of May, I'd suggest getting something booked NOW!!! I've just spent about five days arranging a booking for my visit in September. I had to adjust my days slightly based on availability (the start of my visit to the C.T. will be two days later than I had planned). Buon Viaggio!

I too was looking at options for Sept, and our first choices were already booked, which really surprised me.
If you are finding things are booked, you might ask for recommendations from the already fully booked hotel.
