We will be traveling here in late September (by train). Looking for recommendations for nice accommodations.
Thank you
Give us a little more information, please. How many people and age ranges, special needs/requests, your sense of "nice" and do you prefer big, modern hotels, smaller family-run hotels, b&b's, apartments, etc.?
We’re a married couple in our early 70’s, and my wife speaks Italian. No special needs. In places with Rick Steves recommendations we always prefer a smaller, locally owned and run hotel.
If that isn’t an option we still look for something with a local connection rather than a known chain hotel.
Thanks
In Ravenna I can recommend the Albergo Cappello. We stayed there a few years ago but the recent reviews on bookingdotcom are very favorable still. The location was excellent. Our room was palatial and the bathroom was huge. They served a very nice breakfast and there is a restaurant. The staff were about the friendliest and most helpful ever. When we arrived 5 hours late owing to a train strike ( and no cellphone) the desk clerk was waiting for us after midnight with open arms: “ Welcome to Italy where the trains don’t run!” Major sigh of relief and lifelong praise for the Albergo Capello.
Looks like a great spot - Thank you
In Ravenna we stayed at M Club B&B.

It is on the opposite side of Old Town from the train station though but an interesting walk. Very clean, helpful staff, good location.
