My husband, two daughters and I will be spending 2 nights in Bologna in August 2008. Rick doesn't cover Bologna in his books. Any suggestions for inexpensive to moderately priced hotels?

I stayed at the Hotel Al Cappello Rosso in the historic centre and really liked it. I would suggest you stay in the Piazza Maggiore as most of the historic sights are in this area. Bologna is primarily a business centre and they have some of the largest exhibitions in the country held there so there are lots of hotels catering for business people. If you go to Venere and click on the Piazza Maggiore area it will show you the hotels there. Also try trip advisor to get reviews from people who have stayed in the hotels.
