I’m trying to book ahead and looking at hotels and looking for advice. Metropole vs. Excelsior Splendide vs Hotel du Lac. They’re all really different but it’s a big birthday. Appreciate advice.

I can recommend Hotel du Lac in Varenna! We loved it. Ferry to Bellagio.

Just for clarity, Hotel du Lac in Varenna was sold last year and is now Casa du Lac. There is a different Hotel du Lac in Bellagio.

Thank you for suggesting that option. We decided to stay in Bellagio after looking at the options and are continuing to consider hotels. Hotel du Lac in Bellagio looks very good although very expensive. Other good ones
are also in that price range of $500. Some even more. Excelsior Splendide is $350 but gets very mixed reviews.
