Where to stay in Amalfi town?

My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Italy at the end of April. We plan to fly to Naples, spend 1 night there, visit Pompeii on our way to the Amalfi coast, spend 3 nights on the coast, then transfer to Rome for 4 nights. We’d like to stay in Amalfi town because of its easy access to transportation and proximity to the start of the Path of the Gods. We’ve been looking at hotels in the area with a budget of about $200-250 USD per night. We found a couple of cheap hotels right on the coast with sea views, but the cheap prices and wide availability concern me a little about the quality. Outdated is totally fine as long as it’s clean and secure. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We stayed at Hotel Bussola right at water level
Steps to town and transportation
It was fine
Rooms a bit dated but lovely tile floors comfortable beds nice bathroom etc
Bkft was good as well
We had a sea view room
I’d stay there again

The wide availability probably because it’s March

THe Residence Hotel, right across the street from the port and the bus stops. Good dinners at La Galea, up the street last the Duomo. See booking.com

I’ve stayed at Villa Annalara in Amalfi. It only has about 5-6 spotless, large rooms overlooking either the sea or mountains. The views of Amalfi and the sea from the large terrace are spectacular. It’s perched high on a hill; you walk from the street through the garden to a tunnel. At the end of the tunnel is an elevator that takes about a minute to get up to the hotel. It is owned and run by two brothers who make their guests feel welcome. If you want any recommendations for sights to visit or restaurants, take their advice,

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone! La Bussola and the Residence were already on our radar, so I’m glad to see that people enjoyed staying there. We’ll check out the others as well!
